About Ridge Runner
The roofer who treats your roof like his own.
Mike Zomerfeld trains his crew to one standard, gets on the roof himself, and puts his name on every job. No call center, no sales reps — just the person who'll actually do the work.

Trained where “good enough” wasn’t allowed.
Mike started roofing in 2005 in New York under Kenny Court — a fourth-generation craftsman whose crew had worked together 15+ years on East Hampton's waterfront homes. The standard there was absolute: roofs built to survive ice damming, snow load, and hurricanes. A $300 board cut wrong got thrown out and replaced.
When Mike moved to Long Beach, the contrast hit immediately — silicone over rot, staples where nails belong, sheathing that missed the rafter. Work that would've been torn out and redone back East. He founded Ridge Runner in 2018 as his answer: that same East Coast standard, held to on every California roof, with the stainless fasteners and flashing the coast actually demands.
“When you hire Ridge Runner, you’re really hiring a roof that never needs to be touched until its life is over.”
The standard
The things Ridge Runner won’t do.
Quality is easier to describe by what we refuse to cut. These hold regardless of pressure or profit.
No change-order surprises
Every dollar added after the contract gets explained with photos and a walkthrough. You see what we see before you pay for it.
No silicone over rot
If a board is compromised, it comes out. Period. We don't smear sealant over a problem and call it fixed.
Every sheet lands on a rafter
No exceptions. No “close enough.” The work nobody sees is the work that decides whether a roof lasts.
One crew, every job
No subcontracted labor you've never met on your house. The crew on your roof is the crew Mike trained.
Coastal-grade, every time
Stainless fasteners, copper flashing, sealed ventilation — the details that beat salt air, not the cheapest hardware on the truck.
If Mike can't put his name on it, it doesn't ship
That's the filter every job runs through. The warranty is 25 years because the work is built to outlast it.
Certified where it counts.
